What are you looking for?

A few days ago I was walking with some friends and stopped to notice a tiny bit of moss growing out of a board, shaped like a heart. It was so beautiful, and immediately the quote "love actually is all around us" came to mind. And not just because it's from one of my favorite Christmas movies, but because it is true. We're just not always looking for it.

I find that we often live in fear of things we are afraid of happening. Even if they never come to pass, the time spent worrying is like experiencing them at least once. On the contrary, we are so afraid of dreams being unrealized that we don't even allow ourselves to dream, and end up robbing ourselves of feeling the good even once! There is a similar chance that the best and the worst might happen, so why do we decide to live in the worst? And what if we tried it the other way around?

It seems to me that people who live in the positive and believe the best in people and situations have an easier time finding it. I know circumstances change and some people seem to have all the luck, but I have also seen that you often find what you genuinely search for. Sometimes we are afraid to look for what we really want, so we look for what we're afraid of and we end up finding it. But it doesn't have to be that way! Give it a little thought today... What are you truly looking for?
